Our Vision The Biblical Institute for Social Change (BISC) is an educational resource network of clergy and lay people committed to restore the psychological, social, and spiritual development of persons of African descent given the biblical and theological distortions that historically have prevailed in the Christian tradition. The Institute recognizes that ultimately social change is inescapably bound to spiritual renewal. The BISC Approach BISC seeks to reeducate for social change. The Institute teaches multicultural and African-centered social and spiritual values. BISC, thereby challenges Eurocentric theology and its interpretive imbalances and pro-vides resources and training for individuals, clergy and local/regional ministries across denominational lines. Focus is placed on the relevance of the critical role that persons of African descent have played in biblical history and the church. To mobilize churches and other religious organizations as the vehicles to bring forth this social change, BISC has employed the following approaches: BISC Accomplishments & Achievements Published Study Guide for Troubling Biblical Waters with assistance of Rev. Produced instructional double video Lift Every Voice 5 lectures with Tony Campolo for Seraphim Films. Sponsors a Prison Ministry Outreach that allows prisoners to receive Bibles at wholesale price. Offers fellowships and employment opportunities for seminarians and undergraduates. Produced the documentary film Ancient Africa and the Holy Land.
